Location Overview for Airbnbs in Yosemite
There are a few different options for areas to stay in when visiting Yosemite, and each comes with pros and cons.
First, it is important to know that there are 5 entrances to the park but there are only 3 entrances that are popular and have places to stay nearby.
The first entrance is the South Entrance via Wawona Road, the second is the Arch Rock Entrance via Highway 140 and the third is the Big Oak Flat entrance via Highway 120.
You can get to Yosemite Valley from any of these entrances, although Arch Rock Entrance is the closest to Yosemite Valley.
South Entrance:
The biggest town located closest to the South Entrance of Yosemite is Oakhurst. From Oakhurst, it’s about a 30-minute to the South Entrance and 1 ½ hour to Yosemite Valley.
The drive to Yosemite Valley is really beautiful and there are some hikes as well as campgrounds along the way. You will find lots of Yosemite Airbnbs in Oakhurst and all along the road from Oakhurst to the South Entrance of Yosemite.
Yosemite West:
Along the road from the South Entrance, you will find Yosemite West. Yosemite West is a private community of resort homes located just outside the actual National Park line.
Even though it’s technically outside of Yosemite, the only way to get to Yosemite West is from the South Entrance via Wawona Rd. or from the Arch Rock Entrance also via Wawona Rd.
Yosemite West is a very popular place for Airbnb rentals and you will find lots of beautiful homes to rent in this area. Since Yosemite West is close to the park, rentals in this area tend to be more expensive. Yosemite West is only 20 minutes from Yosemite Valley.
Arch Rock Entrance:
The Arch Rock Entrance is the most popular entrance to the park as it’s the closest to Yosemite Valley. The closest town to the Arch Rock Entrance where you will find Airbnb rentals is Mariposa.
It is a 45-minute drive to the Arch Rock Entrance from Mariposa and about an hour to Yosemite Valley.
Big Oak Flat Entrance:
The town closest to the Big Oak Flat Entrance is Groveland, CA. Groveland has a lot of Airbnb rental options and it’s a super cute town that has live music on the weekends and a nice downtown area. I
t’s about a 30-minute drive from Groveland to the Big Oak Flat Entrance, once you’re inside the park it’s another 40-minute drive to Yosemite Valley.

Are There Any Airbnb Yosemite Valley Rentals?
Unfortunately, there aren’t any accommodations in Yosemite Valley that are Airbnbs. If you want to stay inside the valley you are going to need to book to stay at one of the hotels above. If you’re looking for an Airbnb you will have to book one near the park instead.
Even though there aren’t any Airbnb rentals inside the park, all of the Airbnb’s on this list were chosen specifically for their proximity to the park and other places so that you can go out to eat, get gas, and easily get the things you need during your stay.
One way to get around staying super far from the park is to rent an Airbnb at Yosemite West. This will put you much closer to the park and you will be able to get parking spots easier at popular trailheads if you plan to do lots of hiking.
